MapQuest launches walking and transit directions

MapQuest became the third major online map site to offer its users transit directions.

Currently, the site offers walking directions and rail transit directions.  A press release from the company provides additional information.  This post from Urban Mapping, the company that implemented the transit directions feature, provides information about where the data is derived from.
