Job Description

We’re searching for a WordPress Developer to join our Products team to perform website development and maintenance. This person in this position will report to our Software Products Manager and our Chief Architect and work with our Website Projects Manager and Websites Support Technician. The WordPress Developer will build new websites and help maintain our existing portfolio of 30+ sites and custom plugins. 

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of HTML5 and CSS experience
• 2+ years of WordPress theme or plugin development
• A solid foundation in programming skills (any language)
• Interest and enjoyment in teamwork, willingness to provide mentorship to junior developers, and ability to collaborate with colleagues and contractors on projects as requested
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies and keep up with best practices in security and accessibility within web development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Any of the following skills will be helpful in this position. Applicants who do not have all experience are encouraged to apply. We provide training and mentoring. 

• Experience with PHP, SCSS, and Javascript
• Comfortable with using git and the command line
• Understanding of responsive, mobile-first design
• Experience developing accessible websites and following WCAG 2.1
• Committed to writing clean, readable code and documentation
• Knowledge of general design principles

Schedule

Trillium supports a very flexible work environment. We expect employees to work approximately 40 hours/week, but the timing of those hours can vary. We are all currently working remotely, but when it is safe we expect employees to work from our downtown Portland office on certain Thursdays from about 11am-2pm, as needed for meetings, and for another 4 hour regular block of time that they choose. 

If you are in need of a flexible schedule, (students with part-time or evening classes, parents with child care needs, etc.) we are likely able to easily accommodate. 

Compensation and Benefits

We provide PTO, health insurance (100% paid for employees), ability to contribute to a 401k after 12 months and 3% employer contribution, and all Portland-area public transit expenses paid. Compensation depends upon experience, but the expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 per year.
