GTFS Manager Privacy Policy

Introduction

Trillium Solutions, Inc. (“Trillium”) provides technical and consulting services to transit agencies (“Agencies”). GTFS Manager is one of these services.

Trillium collects some of the information you enter and information associated with your use of this GTFS Manager. This policy (“Policy”) overviews the types of data Trillium may collect and how that data is used so that you can make an informed decision about your use of GTFS Manager.

This Policy is intended to provide additional information to supplement the GTFS Manager Terms of Service.

Information Collected

Each GTFS Manager user has an account. Each account is connected to an identification number (“ID Number”). This ID Number is associated within GTFS Manager with your username, password, name, and email address.

Trillium also uses a service called Google Analytics to monitor use of GTFS Manager. Google Analytics collects anonymized-IP addresses and tracks site behavior such as which pages users visit on the site. Trillium provides your ID Number to Google Analytics so that this data is connected to your ID Number. This means that Google Analytics helps us to track the exact way each user is using GTFS Manager. You can find Google’s Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Finally, Trillium uses a service called ZenDesk to help facilitate client support. GTFS Manager has a ZenDesk widget embedded that makes it easier for clients to find answers to their questions and to make support requests as needed. You can find ZenDesk’s Privacy Policy here: https://www.zendesk.com/company/customers-partners/privacy-policy/. ZenDesk also uses “cookies,” which are small amounts of data generated by a site you visit and stored by your web browser. The purpose of cookies is to remember your preferences and make it easier and faster for you to use that site in the future. You can find the ZenDesk Cookie Policy here: https://www.zendesk.com/company/customers-partners/cookie-policy/.

Use of Information

Trillium uses the information collected through GTFS Manager to track issues, provide support, and make updates to GTFS Manager.

Trillium uses the information collected through Google Analytics to analyze website use.

Trillium may use the data collected in aggregate in marketing and/or educational materials and provide it to our own employees in the course of normal business.

Sharing Data

Trillium shares your ID Number with Google Analytics to facilitate tracking, but does not provide any additional information. This means that while Trillium connects your ID Number to your name, email, and account information, that information is not provided to Google Analytics.

Trillium may use the data collected in aggregate in marketing and/or educational materials and provide it to our own employees in the course of normal business.

Trillium will not sell identifying information to third parties, but may share account activity with the Agency associated with your account if requested.

Data Storage and Retention

GTFS Manager account data is stored on a local server, which is also only accessible to Trillium employees.

The information collected by Google Analytics is stored by Google Analytics and is accessible by Trillium employees.

Trillium has no policy of automatically deleting data after a certain period. This is because Trillium uses this data to evaluate patterns and trends and it is useful to be able to see this type of information over a long period of time. If you would like your data to be removed, you will need to contact us at [email protected]. See the section “Withdrawal of Consent” below for more information.

Consent

Trillium requires Agencies to sign a contract agreeing to abide by the GTFS Manager Terms of Service and this Policy in order to access and use GTFS Manager. This means that all GTFS Manager users must agree to the GTFS Manager Terms of Service and this Policy before an account is created for them in GTFS Manager.

By getting your consent before creating and account, we ensure that we never collect or use your information without your consent.

Withdrawal of Consent

You can withdraw your consent to our continued collection of your personal information by ceasing to use GTFS Manager, and Trillium will retain previously collected data in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable laws.

Alternatively, you can contact Trillium at [email protected] and request that we delete your information.

If, after emailing us, you begin using GTFS Manager again, this will be considered explicit consent to start collecting information again.

Requests to delete information will not be treated as a cancellation of any contracts you have with Trillium. If you wish to cancel a contract, you will need to do so by following the cancellation terms listed in that specific contract. This means that Trillium may still issue invoices in accordance with your contract even if you have stopped using GTFS Manager.

Children

Trillium complies with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and the Federal Trade Commission’s rule interpreting COPPA (16 CFR § 312). Our Services are not directed at or intended for children, we do not create GTFS Manager accounts for children, and we do not collect any personal information from children. If Trillium learns that somehow a child under 13 years of age has provided personal information, that information will be deleted.
