Creating a better transit experience for communities in Northeast Texas
Having recently launched fixed route bus service, STAR Transit connected with Trillium in fall 2015 after learning of our work with the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans). STAR staff had identified Google Transit as a need for riders to plan trips on their fixed routes.
:People that use public transit know that Google Transit is available, and they expect to be able to use it,” says Kim Britton, STAR’s VP of Planning and Development.
Trillium went to work building a GTFS dataset for STAR using our web-based GTFS Manager software. From there we handled the Google Transit implementation process on behalf of STAR to get the new system live on Google Maps.
In 2019 STAR hired Trillium to redesign their website to better showcase their brand and make service information more accessible to riders.
When asked to describe the agency’s experience working with Trillium, Britton said, :The customer service is fantastic. If I have questions they are always answered in a timely manner. Really and truly, it’s just been an easy process.”
