Northwest Oregon Transit Alliance

From agency website to rider information portal

The NW Connector is an interconnected system of transit services in Northwest Oregon.

In 2015, five transit agencies came together to form the Northwest Oregon Transit Alliance, branded the NW Connector, with the goal of providing seamless service in the region. They quickly realized that their website did not do an effective job of marketing available services, prompting them to seek consultant assistance.

Trillium was awarded the website redesign project, and began by helping the Alliance identify larger goals for the system. The need to better equip riders with easy-to-access information about services became clear. This rider-focused approach led to a refreshed branding scheme and trip planning tools, including an interactive route map that incorporated the routes and stops of all five agencies.

Overseeing the project was Mary McArthur, executive director of the Columbia-Pacific Economic Development District. Speaking about Trillium, she says, “I work with a ton of consultants – not just transit – and the two things that really stand out to me that I appreciate most (other than the expertise) are the responsiveness and focus on how to get to ‘yes’.”
